The Saturday Song – Light the Fire Again

These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.'”
Revelation 3:14-18

Be aware! God’s Word says that in the end times, “because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Matthew 24:12

The moment we realize our faith has become cold, or worse, lukewarm, we have a remedy in Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit is able to light the fire in our hearts again if we’ll only call on Him.

Light the Fire Again

by Brian Doerksen

Don’t let our love grow cold
I’m calling out light the fire again
Don’t let our vision die
I’m calling out light the fire again

You know my heart my deeds
I’m calling out light the fire again
I need Your discipline
I’m calling out light the fire again

I am here to buy gold refined in the fire
Naked and poor
Wretched and blind I come
Clothe me in white
So I won’t be ashamed
Lord light the fire again

Light the fire again, yes
Oh yeah

Don’t let our love grow cold
I’m calling out light the fire again
Don’t let our vision die
I’m calling out light the fire again

You know my heart my deeds
I’m calling out light the fire again
I need Your discipline
I’m calling out light the fire again

I am here to buy gold refined in the fire
Naked and poor
Wretched and blind I come
Clothe me in white
So I won’t be ashamed
Lord light the fire again

Lord light the fire again
Lord light the fire again
Lord light the fire again
Lord light the fire again

The Saturday Song – There Will Be a Day

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain,
for the former things have passed away.”

Revelation 21:4

Heavenly Father, help us walk through the hard things in this life with the hope you’ve given us for the next. In Christ’s name we pray, amen.

Saturday Song – I Lift My Eyes Up

In the days leading up to today, the words that kept coming to my heart were that our help comes from the Lord.

The word “help” in Hebrew is ‛ezrâh, meaning aid, and it derives from another word, ‛âzar, meaning to surround

He is our ever-present help in times of trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

You are my help and my deliverer… (Psalm 40:17)

Give us help from trouble… (Psalm 60:11)

Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wing I will rejoice. (Psalm 63:7)

And this song, I Lift My Eyes Up, from Psalm 121.

Father, thank you for surrounding all of us who look to you for comfort and peace today and every day. We pray for your grace and mercy on our nation today for revival, that countless more hearts will look to you, the Creator of heaven and earth, to be their help, their hope, their salvation. It’s in the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen.

I lift my eyes up, to the mountains

Where does my help come from?
My help comes from You
Maker of heaven, Creator of the earth

Oh how I need you Lord
You are my only hope
You’re my only prayer

So I will wait for you
to come and rescue me
Come and give me life

The Saturday Song – God Will Lift Up Your Head

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:3-9

And therefore you now have sorrow. But I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” John 16:22

God Will Lift Up Your Head
by Jars of Clay

Give to the wind your fear
Hope and be undismayed
God hears your sighs and counts your tears
God will lift up
God will lift up
Lift up your head

God will lift up your head
God will lift up your head
God will lift up your head
He will lift up, lift up your head

Leave to His sovereign way
To choose and to command
Then shall we wandering on His way
Know how wise and how strong
How wise and how strong

God will lift up your head
God will lift up your head
God will lift up your head
He will lift up, lift up your head

Through waves and clouds and storms,
He gently clears the way
Wait because in His time, so shall this night
Soon end in joy,
Soon end in joy
Soon end in joy,
Soon end in joy.

God will lift up your head
God will lift up your head
God will lift up your head
He will lift up, lift up your head

The Saturday Song – King of the World

Hello friends.  I hope you’re having a great Saturday and preparing your heart for what the Lord desires to speak into your heart this weekend.

I heard this song again recently and with all that’s going on in our world, and in my own life, it really touched my heart, and I wanted to share it with you.

The God we serve – the great I AM, the creator of the universe and of you and me, the One who sent His own Son to purchase our souls, and has made a way for our eternity at home with Him – is, always has been, and always will be the King of the world.

No matter what we’re facing today or will face tomorrow, He’s got this, if we’ll just hold it out to Him and ask Him.

May He bless your day, your weekend, and may you see His strong and loving hand in all the things that concern you.

King of the World
by Natalie Grant

I try to fit you in the walls inside my mind
I try to keep you safely in between the lines
I try to put you in the box that I’ve designed
I try to pull you down so we are eye to eye

When did I forget that you’ve always been
The King of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands
Of the King of the world

How could I make you so small
When you’re the one who holds it all
When did I forget that you’ve always been
The King of the world?

Just a whisper of your voice can tame the seas
So who am I to try to take the lead
Still I run ahead and think I’m strong enough
When you’re the one who made me from the dust

When did I forget that you’ve always been
The King of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands
Of the King of the world

How could I make you so small
When you’re the one who holds it all
When did I forget that you’ve always been
The King of the world

Oh, you set it all in motion
Every single moment
You brought it all to me
And you’re holding on to me

When did I forget that you’ve always been
The King of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands
Of the King of the world

How could I make you so small
When you’re the one who holds it all
When did I forget you’ve always been
The King of the world

You will always be the King of the world

The Saturday Song – Voice of Truth

Hello friends. In case you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of voices out there screaming for our attention. And there are some up close, whispering in our minds things about ourselves that are absolutely not true. They are lies from the pit of hell.

And there is another Voice, whispering even smaller and quieter, that we are we are loved, we are forgiven, we are His, and He has a plan for our lives.

Every day we make a choice to discern those voices against the backdrop of God’s Word and the Holy Spirit, and choose to listen to and believe the Voice of Truth.

And when we put on the clothes of righteousness Christ purchased for us, and the armor of God the Spirit provides and step out in faith, we will live in victory.

Rooting for you!!!

The Saturday Song – Give Me Jesus

Though this is our heart’s desire, the world seems to be making it easier every day. More and more I see the world offers nothing I want, nothing of real and lasting value, but Jesus holds everything.

Just give me Jesus.

Give Me Jesus
by Jeremy Camp

In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise

Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus

You can have all this world
Just give me Jesus

When I am alone
When I am alone
When I am alone

Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus

You can have all this world
Just give me Jesus (Jesus)

When I come to die
When I come to die
When I come to die

Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus

You can have all this world
Just give me Jesus

Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus

You can have all this world
You can have all this world
You can have all this world
Just give me Jesus

Resurrecting

Just before the 6:24 am sunrise in Jerusalem:

“On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,
but when they entered,
they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.”

Luke 24:1-3

Resurrecting
by Elevation Worship

The head that once was crowned with thorns
Is crowned with glory now
The Savior knelt to wash our feet
Now at His feet we bow

The One who wore our sin and shame
Now robed in majesty
The radiance of perfect love
Now shines for all to see

Your name, Your name
Is victory
All praise, will rise
To Christ, our king

Your name, Your name
Is victory
All praise, will rise
To Christ, our King

The fear that held us now gives way
To Him who is our peace
His final breath upon the cross
Is now alive in me

Your name, Your name
Is victory
All praise, will rise
To Christ, our King

Your name, Your name
Is victory
All praise, will rise
To Christ, our King

By Your Spirit I will rise
From the ashes of defeat
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me
In Your name I come alive
To declare Your victory
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me

By Your Spirit I will rise
From the ashes of defeat
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me

In Your name I come alive
To declare Your victory (c’mon!)
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me

By Your Spirit I will rise
From the ashes of defeat
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me

In Your name I come alive
To declare Your victory
The resurrected king, is resurrecting me
He’s resurrecting me

Our God is good, oh
The tomb where soldiers watched in vain
Was borrowed for three days
His body there would not remain

Our God has robbed the grave
Our God has robbed the grave (yes He has, yes He has)

Your name, Your name
Is victory
All praise, will rise
To Christ our King

Your name, Your name
Is victory
All praise, will rise
To Christ our King

By Your Spirit I will rise
From the ashes of defeat
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me

In Your name I come alive
To declare Your victory
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me

By Your Spirit I will rise
From the ashes of defeat
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me

In Your name I come alive
To declare Your victory
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me

By Your Spirit I will rise
From the ashes of defeat
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me

In Your name I come alive
To declare Your victory
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me,
Oh yeah

The Saturday Song – Almost Home

I don’t have to tell you we’ve all had a rough year. And for a lot of us that’s on top of a rough decade…life…you get the idea.

And the trials of this life don’t show any signs of letting up.

But this life is not all there is.

For those who have chosen Christ as our Savior, this world is just a temporary place where we grow closer to the Lord, let His character replace our own, where we let the Author and Finisher of our faith mature us and prepare us for the life He has planned for us – the real life – the life after this, where we’re more alive than ever.

Right now, we live with our eyes on that prize. We live with a hope and a steadfast faith that seeks to be about our Father’s business, loving and drawing the people He’s given us into that most sacred of relationships so they, too, can live with hope, knowing this life is only temporary, and we’re almost home.

Almost Home
by MercyMe

Are you disappointed
Are you desperate for help
You know what it’s like to be tired
And only a shell of yourself
Well you start to believe
You don’t have what it takes
‘Cause it’s all you can do
Just to move much less finish the race
But don’t forget what lies ahead

Almost home
Brother it won’t be long
Soon all your burdens will be gone
With all your strength
Sister run wild, run free
Hold up your head
Keep pressing on
We are almost home

Well this road will be hard
But we win in the end
Simply because of Jesus in us
It’s not if but when
So take joy in the journey
Even when it feels long
Oh find strength in each step
Knowing heaven is cheering you on

We are almost home
Brother it won’t be long
Soon all your burdens will be gone
With all your strength
Sister run wild, run free
Hold up your head
Keep pressing on
We are almost home
Almost home
Almost home

I know that the cross has brought heaven to us
But make no mistake there’s still more to come
When our flesh and our bone are no longer between
Where we are right now and where we’re meant to be
When all that’s been lost has been made whole again
When these tears and this pain no longer exist
No more walking we’re running as fast as we can
Consider this our second wind

Almost home
Brother it won’t be long
Soon all your burdens will be gone
With all your strength
Sister run wild, run free
Hold up your head
Keep pressing on
We are almost home
Almost home
Almost home
We are almost home
Almost home
Almost home
We are almost home

The Saturday Song – The Steadfast Love of the Lord

My dear friend posted this song the other day and it was just what I needed.  Duane Clark and his brother, Terry, are pioneers of the contemporary Christian music genre. If you’d like to have some of their music for your own, you can check it out here.

I pray this song blesses you, too, and reminds you of how very much God loves you through anything and everything you go through.

I pray you’re always reminded of that when you come here, that you’re always drawn to Jesus and His love and hope, and that it causes you to want to walk with Him closer than the day before.
